Memory 7 - Game 20 [NEU-NEG]

- not allowed to go outside
Regained: Day 26, Rejoice
Sharable: carnations in team colors (huff) [1/4 uses] (shared with: Hatter, Coco)

This is a memory that mostly just mentioned in canon with comment in the second panel of this page:

In summary:
- he's just a kid in this memory. less than 7 years old
- something bad happened
- his parents were very upset about whatever happened
- there was probably some fighting between his parents
- his mother went on hyper-alert with him and would hardly let him out of the house
- apparently he had been previously allowed to go out to a certain place but whatever happened made that a huge NO for his family.
- it very likely has something to do with his being the Cat
- this continued to be his normal for a very very long time

More things:
Basically with what all has been happening lately, this just goes to emphasize how much Kyou hates "protection". The only solution he could see in protecting him from whatever goes on in the Gallery or anywhere else in life is to constantly keep him under lock and key, under watch, not allowed to act outside certain perameters or go anywhere without permission. It's a very stifling sensation for him, largely because it's an idea he apparently grew up with. So the fight he had with Hatter about it was mostly his kneejerk reaction to any attempts at shielding him "because they love him" or "because they care about him" or "just wants to make sure he is all right" or "because they would DIE for him" etc...

This memory just basically further brings weight to the reasons why he hates that sort of thing. It's fake, to him. That sort of protection isn't protection for him, it's for the person who wants to protect him. If that's the case, he wouldn't care as much. What he HATES is when the other person uses him as the excuse. Uses protecting him as the reason why they're acting a certain way.

At the same time, it does help give him perspective on that kind of behavior and is probably more likely to be a bit submissive about it and willing to go along with what they want. Because Kyou as a child never wanted to make things difficult on those around him, he just wanted the people around him to feel as though they were doing the right thing for him. Because he's the Cat, the Cat shouldn't expect the privileges of others, etc, etc...

So, in short, Kyou's probably going to limit his own time outside of the dorms. So this may or may not be something Canary and people who know him (like Trucy, Musica, or Coco) would notice. Suddenly, he's really not going outside and he's keeping to himself more '-'
